I was extremely fortunate to have played for this wonderful organization, led by the incredible Pam Pariseau. On 7-14-14, auditions with some incredible YOUNG talent from all over (Ohio, New Mexico, among other places) and on 7-18-14, I got to accompany for the wickedly talented Susan Blackwell. She wrote a great song and presented a lecture to teachers on the art of “listening”. Â Two wonderful programs!!! For more information on Broadway Student Summit, click here.
Steven assumed the role of director/arranger for The Pot Luck Dinner. Wonderful director Carmen Lamar chose Steven’s arrangement of Jitterbug, Optimistic Voices, Merry Old Land Of Oz and Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Steven created a tiny “script” for the kids- who performed beautifully. Prior to the show, was a Poetry Slam and following the show was the pot luck dinner. Â Great to catch up with incoming students, and old friend, Andrea Burns. Â Kudos to Morgan for stepping in to the role of the Lion. Â and BRAVO! to everyone involved.
Steven served as arranger, editor and music director for the PS 6 grade graduation. Â Another great group of talented, smart and creative young men and women. Â This year they added to the repertoire Pharrell Williams HAPPY- challenging and rewarding and we used an edited version of Hall of Fame by the script, with additional editing by Christian Castro for their slide show. Â Always amazed at the progress of these kids!!!

The very talented youngsters sang “Why We Tell the Story,” (from Once on This Island), and “When I Grow Up,” (From Matilda).
