November 15, 2004 

Steven is a ongoing pianist/music director to a wonderful group called “Vocal Ease.” This organization provides entertainment to nursing homes and senior citizen organizations. Last summer, Sally Struthers and Nancy Barrett performed with the group. Check out the site and see a picture from that event.

 

October 12, 2004

 

Steven is one of the contributing vocal coches in a new book available at Drama Book Shop entitled “Voice Teachers and Vocal Coaches of New York: the One and Only Guide”. Other colleagues included in the book include Wendy Parr and Michael Lavine. There are over fifty voice teachers and vocal coaches in the book detailing methods, techniques, artistic specialties, styles, rates and student comments. To order: go to www.voiceny.com.

 

September 13, 2004 

Auditions for Princeton Triangle Club where Steven will serve as music director for third year in a row.

 

August 14, 2004 

July 19-23, Steven served as music director for a very exciting program at Theatreworks USA. They inaugurated a camp for kids that had its premiere year. The program culminated in a 25 minute revue of all original material. One of the songs featured was written by Steven and June Siegel entitled “Be Yourself” (listen here).

 

August 13, 2004

Once again, Steven will serve as Music Director for Nancy Barrett, who will be performing a 40 minute cabaret act, as part of the annual Dark Shadows Convention. It will again feature two songs written by Steven (“Once Again” and “Not the Type”). For more information, please visit darkshadowsonline.com.

Father’s Day Treat on June 20, 2004

Steven served as music director and contributing writer to Metropolitan Music, the new musical theatre revue, featuring performers from Marymount at the York Musical Theatre Summer Intensive. It was presented on June 20 at 3 and 7:30 PM. The York is located at the Citicorp Center. Steven’s featured songs included “Mommy Too” (lyrics by Stephen Cole), “I’ve Given Up” (lyrics by David Arthur) and “Pictures I Draw” (lyrics by Michael Colby). Special Encore Presentation June 4, 2004

Bill Ryall‘s act “47 Minutes of 47 Years,” was be presented for the third time. After performing to sold out crowds and rave reviews in New York City and Orlando Florida, Bill took his act to Goodspeed, where he is currently appearing in Call Me Madam. It was presented at 11PM on June 4, 2004. Steven, who co-wrote many of the songs, accompanied Bill and served as Music Director.

One Night Only June 3, 2004

Steven served as music director for Gretchen Reinhagen. Gretchen performed a wide variety of material – from Janis Joplin to a selection from Ragtime. Her cabaret UNDEFINABLE was at DILLONS on 254 W 54th, 8 PM

Monday May 3, 2004

Steven played piano at the 19th annual Lucille Lortel Awards. The Masters of Ceremonies were Joanna Gleason and Richard Thomas. The Awards were presented at the Minetta Lane Theater. More information visit www.lortelawards.com

On April 3rd and 5th

Steven is proud to be contributing writer to a new Cabaret Act entitled Hot Mamas! The Mother of All Cabarets. Songs represented in the evening include: “To the Mothers” (lyrics by Lorraine Kollar); “What’s your Name” (lyrics by Ron Kaehler) and “A Weighty Issue or Jodi’s Lament” (lyrics by Jodi Darling). The show was performed at Dillons on April 3 and 5th.

March 23rd

Steven was fortunate to have accompanied the piano for Vocal Ease’s special guest, Sally Struthers. Vocal Ease is a volunteer singing group, who perform throughout the metropolitan area. The performance was at the Carnegie East Home on the upper East side of Manhattan. Also included in the cast was veteran Dark Shadow star, Nancy Barrett.

February 19

Embrace! Broadway concert benefiting the Matthew Shephard Foundation. Steven�s song “Mommy Too” was peformed by William Ryall. Music Director Mat Eisenstein. Other performers included Andrew Lippa, Janet Metz, Max von Essen. For more info, contact Matthew Shepard.

Opening Friday January 23

Steven was the assistant music director of FIORELLO, starring Tony LoBianco and directed by Dan Siretta. It will run weekends through February 8.
